Performance Measure

Background:
MCHB developed 41 national performance measures and several program performance measures across many maternal and child public health areas. The performance measures are assigned by the MCHB programs based on the applicability of the performance measures to the current program. For each assigned performance measure, the grantees provide annual objectives and annually report the indicators against these objectives. This reporting allows grantees and MCHB to track progress in achieving their goals.

MCHB grantees reported on many of these performance measures during this reporting year. Some performance measures obtain the data from data sources outside DGIS, such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; therefore, MCHB grantees are not required to report on these performance measures. Other performance measures are under development and have not been released for data collection. For more information on the MCHB performance measures, click the About DGIS link on the home page.
